my TEXTILE NEWS: more than the KWP in online format

The "Kettenwirk-Praxis" goes online and expands its focus with additional technologies

The „Kettenwirk-Praxis“ has been a recognized trade magazine for warp knitting for more than 50 years and has long been a household name in warp preparation for weaving. Now it's time for innovation! The textile magazine has been reinvented to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the KARL MAYER Group: From now on, specialist information will be available in digital format - i.e. it can be called up at any time and on any mobile device – and with an extended range of topics, but still user-oriented. At the beginning of October 2022 "Kettenwirk-Praxis“ appeared in print for the last time and focused on warp knitting. On October 18, the online portal my TEXTILE NEWS went live.

The focus of the reporting is still on the production of the textile surface and its application, for warp knitting and – this is new – also for flat knitting. There is also more know-how on relevant areas of the textile production chain, for example fiber innovations, process integration solutions and sustainable processes, technologies and materials. The topics of technical textiles, warp preparation and digitization will also be placed more prominently. The „Kettenwirk-Praxis“ thus becomes my TEXTILE NEWS. Information on broader fields of application, with a focus on application benefits and on technical innovations – all these offers the new online portal.

Professional reporting, exciting articles

Alongside all the new, the tried and tested remains: the editor. For more than 20 years Ulrike Schlenker have been working as the editor for "Kettenwirk-Praxis", reporting on the subject of textiles is close to my heart. The textile industry is diverse, dynamic and innovative like hardly any other industry. Its traces can be found in all areas of our lives. Its potential to contribute to mastering the complex challenges of our time is enormous. Their topics are exciting and varied. They are Ulrike Schlenker’s profession. Therefore, there will still be no standard format, but there will be trade show reports, company portraits, interviews with interesting industry players and, of course, news about machines, digital solutions and textile products.
