Additive manufacturing gains profile
Successful 3rd workshop Additive manufacturing in online format, on 11.11.2020, with KARL MAYER‘s support
Additive manufacturing allows completely new products to be created through the layer-by-layer application of materials. Possibilities in design, technology details and application questions are the topics of the Additive manufacturing workshop, which has been organized by the Textile Research Institute Thüringen-Vogtland e.V. (TITV) Greiz for three years now. The TITV is supported in the organization of the event by the renowned textile machinery manufacturer KARL MAYER.
This year the workshop took place on November 11th and for the first time online. About 80 participants clicked into the small but nice conference program, about 60% of them came from the industry. The audience followed the various presentations with great interest, for example about the way of additive manufacturing into industrial practice or the possibilities for designing personalized products. Afterwards a lively chat exchange started. Questions were discussed, particularly about processable materials, their adhesion to the cutting points and the creation of files for 3D printing. Moderator Michael Kieren was pleased with the lively discussion. „With this year's workshop in online format we have successfully broken new ground. The event was very well received. We are already thinking about organizing a hybrid event combining the online and face-to-face sections next year,' says KARL MAYER's Product Manager New Textile Technologies.Back to overview
