Coating Substrates and Advertising Media

Various warp-knitted coating substrates, typically made from high-strength polyester yarns, feature two straight yarn layers oriented at 0° and 90°. These are secured with knitting yarn to create a textile substrate with exceptional tear propagation resistance and tensile strength at low weights per unit area.

For example in this sector KARL MAYER offers technologies for producing multilayered, multiaxial textiles from aramid fibres for bulletproof vests, as well as machines for producing biaxial, weft-insertion, warp knitted textiles from high-performance yarns with a large number of filaments.
