Advanced course for Multibar Raschel machines

Course title: WKM

This training course is built on the basic knowledge acquired in the course WKB. The advanced skills are further enhanced and practical works on Karl Mayer Mulitbar and Raschel machines guarantee best possible training methods.

Target group

Operators with experience in warp knitting such as machine operators, heads of production, designers, pattern developers, staff employed in the management department or in the pattern drafting and preparation.

Training prerequisites

Karl Mayer WKB, or comparable knowledge as well as willingness to team work and to operate in an intercultural group. Fine English language skills.

Training period

4 weeks

Training subjects


1. Machinery, maintenance, pattern preparation
- introduction and practical application of the machines on basis of the
  machines types FL 20/16, TL 34/1/24
- introduction into the basic functions and operation of the Karl Mayer
  KAMCOS® (E MO 3) with Teleservice and operation data acquisition
- introduction into the basics of the Karl Mayer ProCad warpknit system, for 
  development of lappings and archiving of all the pattern data
- machine construction and technical features of the Karl Mayer Multibar - and
  Jacquard Raschel maschine
- introduction into the pattern possibilities of lace and curtains
- function, working method and application of the chain links and pattern discs
- function and working method of the electronic guide bar control, pattern
  guide fingers, Piezo selection system
- function and setting of the yarn feeding systems
- function and operation method of the different weft insertion systems and
  the yarn guiding devices
- function and setting of the mechanical and electronic fabric take-up systems 


2. Practical works, patterning on training machines
- assembly and disassembly of the knitting elements with subsequent
  adjustment, such as shog setting and knock-over
- setting of the 'O position' and standard regulations
- threading of the yarns and new setting of testing patterns 
- realisation of analysed sample patterns on the warp knitting machine
- practical works with pattern chains and patterns discs
- setting of chain links according to pattern book
- machine operation, quality control and fault analysis
- technical calculation of the pattern
