Sales and service for new KARL MAYER machines in North America.
Sales point for North and Central America
KARL MAYER North America ("Mayer textile Machine Corp.") has completed consolidation of its operations into their plant in Greensboro North Carolina.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of KARL MAYER in Germany, the U.S. company’s main role is sales, service and parts distribution of KARL MAYER’s warp knitting, weft insertion, composite stitch bonding, beam preparation and sizing machinery. The company also has manufacturing capabilities to customize and test new machines, to repair and recondition components and to produce change parts.
The company has a long history in the USA with a plant in New Jersey since 1956 and in Greensboro since 1968.
To adapt to the changes in the North American textile industry, early this year the company’s management announced a plan to consolidate into the existing 60,000 square ft. plant in Greensboro. Significant investments have been made in office expansion, plant infrastructure and information technology. More than 25 new employees have been added to the workforce in Greensboro, including fifteen employees, who have relocated from New Jersey.
According to KARL MAYER NA’s president Tony Hooimeijer, this consolidation has set up the company much better to respond to the needs of the nowadays highly niche-oriented North American textile industry. The choice for the Greensboro plant was mainly driven by proximity to the heart of the textile market and by the quality of the location, both for business and for employees.
