Successful start of the KARL MAYER Academy in Bursa
On 7 September 2023, the KARL MAYER GROUP opened its own site in Turkey - in Bursa - and shortly afterwards the Academy integrated there started its first series of courses. The three events of the training premiere took place in mid-October and provided know-how on ON technology, on the basics of warp knitting, and on the operation and maintenance of machines. Participants were 13 employees from seven different customers. Most of them came directly from Bursa, but some also came from Istanbul and Çorlu. All were very satisfied with the comprehensive offer and the high practical value of the courses. Their contents and organisation were tried and tested. The experienced trainer Gökhan Akyildiz from the Academy in Obertshausen had made the journey to qualify the first Academy visitors and to experience something new. "It was a special experience for me to hold these trainings in Turkish in our just opened premises. I am already looking forward to the next courses," says the warp knitting expert.
Gökhan Akyildiz was accompanied on his tour to Bursa by Axel Wintermeyer, Vice President Care Solutions at the KARL MAYER GROUP, and Sophia Krinner, Head of the Academy. The management team from the company's headquarters wanted to get an idea of how the new KARL MAYER training centre was run and to talk to the customers. They were pleased to receive a positive response. "The customers are taking up the offer very well. The feedback on our presence in Bursa is positive throughout." Axel Wintermeyer remarks. "We already have a waiting list for our next dates. Exclusive trainings for groups of employees from one company have also been requested," adds Sophia Krinner.
In the future, the training offer in Bursa will be expanded. In addition to basic training on the fundamentals of warp knitting, machine operation and specialisation on ON machines, there will also be textile analysis courses.
